This skin treatment consists of a series of Intense Pulse Light treatments conducted at our Brooklyn dermatology office that can vastly improve the appearance of your skin. Not only that, but it may also correct some of the underlying causes for your skin’s appearance.
Photorejuvenation is a process in which an intense light pulses gently over the area of the skin desiring treatment. This method has been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of age spots, photo aging, skin texture, sun damaged skin, broken capillaries, flushing and rosacea. It had also been shown to mildly improve the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and may also correct dark circles beneath the eyes as well as reduce large pores as well. This pulsing light treatment used by Dr. Ghatan at our Brooklyn dermatology office will penetrate your skin without damaging it and will then be absorbed by the dilated vessels, pigmentation, or scars in question. The heat from the light damages these unwanted features and the body will then begin the healing process in those affected areas naturally. These areas will then darken and fade or flake off of the skin. Photorejuvenation treatment can be provided in a series of 3 to 5 visits in order to produce optimal results.
Here at our Brooklyn dermatology office, we can assure you that a comfortable procedure that will last anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes. The duration of the procedure depends on the size of the area you wish to be treated. There is little recovery time following this treatment and you’ll be back to your regular schedule in no time, and in some cases almost immediately following treatment with Dr. Ghatan. You can then expect to see a gradual decrease in redness, flushing, uneven or irregular pigmentation and you will see significantly reduced pores and fine lines in the face.
